Remember these "mood boards" I posted WAY back when I had nothing better to do with my time than dream and plan?
Well, it's only taken me 5 months to get the twins' nursery (almost) complete and I wanted to share the finished product finally! In the spare 5 minutes I had this weekend between needy children I snapped some photos. I would have "staged" it better if I had the time, but I did manage to get the diaper pail out of the pics at least. Ha! Since I spend so much time in the room (and it seems to be increasing with the onset of teething), I wanted to make it a place that I loved. If you know me, you know I am not big into baby stuff. I love graphic patterns and bright colors so my babies are being forced to skip the teddy bears and bunnies, poor things! I think they'll survive. Every detail of the room isn't perfect quite yet, but the overall picture is there. It was hard to get the right balance of feminine and masculine accents. I am so used to having just a girly girl around, the boy thing threw me off.
I also wanted to customize it for both of them, so I created a picture for each kiddo. Miley's says "Miles of Smiles" because her smile is like nothing else. It is the most special expression and she breaks out in her precious little smile ALL THE TIME. Ollie's reads "Olliewood" because that will inevitably become his namesake. I have to say, I think it's kinda a cool nickname if you're gonna have one ;) I hope this is a room in which my kids build many happy memories. I'm just so glad it's DONE! Whew!
