Little Miss Q was not excited at the thought of being left alone among a bunch of little princesses in pink tutus on the first day of dance class. It broke my heart to leave her there, but as soon as the teacher started the class, she had no choice but to join in. To her (and my) delight, she LOVED the class! It's pretty funny how us moms all "fight" over watching through the tiny window in the door.
This week was her second class and she was ready. She couldn't get her tap shoes on fast enough and the entire way she was asking where dance class was. She did great for the first part of the class, trying to keep up although she most often is either facing the wrong direction or repeatedly doing the last step they were on. Then, as I glanced through the window once again, I noticed her sitting off to the side with her thumb in her mouth. So sad looking.
Another little girl went over and hugged her. I could tell she was trying to console her. She finally tried pulling Q's arm to get her to stand up but Q didn't seem too enthused. Just then, it was Q's turn on the mat to jump like a frog and the teacher swept her up. She caught a glimpse of me through the window, which could have been ugly, but it actually helped. She began to try to show off for me.
After class I asked her why she was so sad in class and she said. "I was sad because I wanted my momma." Ahhhh, my heart melted. I have to admit I asked her about 5 more times throughout the day just to see if her answer changed. Nope, it was the same every time. So, of course I don't want her to be the little home sick girl at slumber parties, but it did make me feel super special! She'll always be my little girl! I managed to snap a few pics with my phone in between the few seconds the other moms bent down to tie a shoe!
I just have to share my latest home project below. I absolutely love how it turned out. I've been collecting plates from random places for the last few months and wasn't sure how I wanted to display them. I also knew I love the way mirrors can brighten up a room, so I decide to put them together and slap them up on the wall. It's amazing what a little hot glue can do!
