Train Park (Finally)

I had been dying to take Quincy on the train I heard about at Desert Breeze Park. We finally made it there on Sunday afternoon. It was a little warm, but it was our last chance before the summer really hits. She enjoyed the train, but not quite as much as the carousel. Here are pictures from the fun day!

This set is actually from the back patio earlier that day. We were drawing with chalk, that is, until she decided to wear my shoes instead :)

Tumbleweed Park Museum

Here's the next installment of photos from our weekend. Sunday morning, Quincy and I headed out for yet another craft fair but first, we made a pit stop at Tumbleweed park where I remembered them having some old farm buildings I thought would be great for a photo shoot. Because she doesn't like to actually look at her mother, especially when there is a camera involved, it was so difficult to get anything. She was so intrigued by the chicken coop, but mostly annoyed with her mom who kept saying, "Quincy, look at me!"

Playing Catch-Up

We had a GREAT weekend and we have another zillion pictures to prove it. Unfortunately, the week is already in full swing (and my hard drive has finally just about reached its limit) so I will have to post the weekend piece by piece. It's much more exciting that way, isn't it? So, let's start out with Saturday. Quincy and I got up and ready and headed out for a craft fair. It was sure tempting not to buy anything. It was full of fun baby accessories in lots of colors and fun fabrics (my weakness), but we stood our ground and make it through without spending a dime. We decided to treat ourselves with such good behavior with a trip to the Mall! Unfortunately, that trip only involved playing in the nice, shaded play area. No shopping for me :( Here's our first installment of photos. There's just a few, but they're some cute expressions. Tune in for more soon!

Help! Please vote!

I am going to try to enter Quincy's photos into a magazine contest because, well, why not? Seeing as her red hair is from no one on this planet, maybe she'll stand a chance? There are about a bagzillion adorable kids out there, but you can't win if you don't play, right? I'm just excited because the finalists get a trip to NY, my dream! Plus money doesn't hurt either. I can submit 6 photos of her from the past three months and I just can't choose. I need your votes to help me decide. They are looking for appearance and personality so I need to show that she's a cutie-pie and funny. They also want good quality photos, although they can't be professional. I've numbered all my favorites. If you can PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE just leave a comment at the bottom of this post with your top 6 favorites, it would be helpful! Thank you!

For the love of art (and slides)

We took Q to the Art Museum for Youth this afternoon. She had so much fun running around with her Daddy. We got there with only an hour left until closing so we pretty much had full run of the place. Quincy loved the slide. It looked small and puny, but it was FAST. She'd fly down and land on her tush :) She was giddy as she ran around to the ramp, over and over and over... We'll have to go again when we have more time.

Outing with the Ladies

Today was perfect. It was so beautiful and so much fun. The day started out with a family garage sale hunt. I love getting a deal and let me tell you, I got some great ones this morning. Without going into details, let's just say I spent a total of $16 and got Q over 15 articles of clothing, most of which are Gap and Old Navy, books, DVDs, and toys. Love, love, love a bargain!

The remainder of the day was spent at the Biltmore with some of our favorite ladies! Q and I met Grammy, Great Grandma and Great Aunt Kathy for lunch on the patio. It was so gorgeous, we just had to roam the grounds for as long as we could. It was such a nice time. Thank you ladies!

Playing Hooky

Quincy had a rough week. Let's see: Monday=Good; Tuesday=Good; Wednesday=Bit on arm; Wednesday=High Fever; Thursday=Low Fever; Friday=Bit on arm AGAIN. This week sure flew by. Mommy had to stay home with Q two days because she had a fever, but I'm not quite convinced she wasn't faking it. While at home, we had plenty of time to practice our photos and from the looks of things, you wouldn't believe she was sick. Little stinker. I guess at 1 1/2 you can't really hold the thermometer up to a light bulb, can you? I swear that's what she did.

So, what's the biting all about you ask? Well, that's what I'm sayin'! Two days in one week. She's the oldest in her class right now so she's either getting it back for being the bully or she's just a little wimpy :) I have a feeling it's the first one! I think they're moving her up into the older class next week aka the "biter's protection program". I think she'll fit in better with the older kids anyway.

It's going to be one of our last nice weekends here so we'll be taking advantage. Happy Friday!

Hippety Hoppety. We love Easter!

I simply could not choose so here is a never-ending supply of photos from our WONDERFUL Easter. It was a gorgeous day spent with family, food and fun. Who could ask for more? I am uploading so many photos that I don't have the time or energy to go over the whole day, but I will say that I am so thankful for family. There is nothing like being with those you love and our family is the best. So generous, loving and fun. Quincy had the time of her life. Love you all!

(Oh, and there were actual adults present at Easter but I have no proof. Somehow I only got photos of the kids. Oops. Sorry guys!)

Easter morning with Q's "Girlfriend" Grandma Wood.

The race is on... for bubbles, not so much for eggs!

Free Willy! And Jane! And Joe! And John! And, well, you get the picture. "Papa" and Q watching the baby turtles let free into the wild!

Thank you Uncle "Bubbles" for playing with Q!
