Passing time

until our camera is fixed AGAIN. Sorry, no pictures lately, not that there aren't enough of Quincy that looked identical but with different outfits. We don't really have much going on these days other than life as usual. Marshal went 4-wheeling this past weekend so Q and I did our typical trip to the west side to see family. Quincy hung out with Grandma Wood all day Saturday and had a BLAST. I couldn't peel her away! Then, she got to go to the park with Grammy & Grandpa Sunday morning and enjoy lunch and her first pizzookie experience at Gallaghers for lunch. We both left the place with chocolate from head to toe and by the time we got home, the little angel was a sugar demon (I mean that in the nicest way possible)! Again, trying to peel her away from Grammy and Grandpa's was a challenge. Those grandparents really know how to spoil a kid!

Tonight was dinner with Daddy at TGIFridays where, drumroll please....... Kids Eat Free! Yay! Considering the fact that if your kids are anything like mine, they DON'T eat! Here's a picture from my camera phone from tonight's dinner. Quincy was in not-so-rare form, hamming it up of course. Only three more days at Tutor Time before she changes schools, I am feeling a little bitter sweet about it, but as it gets closer, I'm feeling more bitter because it's going to be hard. That's a whole other post so I'll get to that next week. Until then, we'll try to enjoy the rest of this week before that drama begins!

Just Because

We had a few spare minutes while waiting for the TV to be brought back to our house so Q and I went out back to play. Yay!!!! I snapped a few photos and decided to experiment tonight. Here's what came of it...

Okay, so this one is my favorite because her eyes are so intense although she looks like she should be in an ad for homeless children. She looks SO SAD :( But, like I said, she just gets very interested on figuring out her surroundings, I swear! Can you tell I'm developing a complex about this? Oh, and please pardon the food and boogers on her face.

See! A SMILE!

Vroom, Vroom! Look at those sparkly eyes!

Back to Clickin'

Yay! Our camera is fixed so I can catch up on all the photos I missed out on in the past week. I was so happy to have the camera back, I took photos of everything I could think of so that explains the random photos! It was a weekend at home for the most part. We brought some stuff over to a friend's for a garage sale and made a whopping $27. Not exactly worth the effort. The rest of the weekend included running errands, planting flowers and working. Sorry for the let-down :) Here are some pictures from the weekend "just because".

I can not be responsible for this kid's hair... hey, would you try to put a comb through in Big Foot's hair? Much too dangerous.

Daisy is showing off her battle wounds. She's doing better but I'm not sure how much frisbee she'll have in her future :(

The park is SERIOUS BUSINESS. She looks like she's having a miserable time. Mean mommy, forcing her to play. :) She just gets so intense.

Quincy's creations: playing dress-up.

I love flowers! I'm a little late this year, but better late than never!

Mama "Shit"

Okay, so it's not as bad as it sounds. That's Quincy's latest favorite phrase, every morning and every night after she struggles, grunting and groaning (thanks Grammy for making her a drama queen) to climb into the rocking chair in her room. She sits herself down, book in hand and points next to her saying "Mama, shit" "Mama, shit". Okay, so she actually means "sit", but she adds the little shhhhh sound and it is so cute. It's one of the first string of words she uses regularly. We are now officially in the stage of reading the same books over and over and over... Her favorites now are Dr. Suess' Mr. Brown Can, The Foot Book, and Green Eggs and Ham as well as Goodnight Moon and Veggie Tales.

She's also somehow learned to roll her eyes at us. I'm still trying to figure out if she actually knows what she's doing. She seems to but I am so confused! I thought that wouldn't start until her teen years! We are SO in trouble.

Lastly, our first baby girl (Daisy Dog) hurt her leg today and is barely walking :( Poor thing. Marshal was playing frisbee with her and she suddenly yelped, hit the ground and couldn't walk. He had to carry the big lug home. She's definitely having a hard time tonight getting around so we may end up at the vet tomorrow. Here we go. One more thing to add to the list: TV, camera, dog........

Where Were the Ostriches?

Well, it was a good day with one little (well, to me, huge) exception. Quincy and I woke up and hit some garage sales. We scored a mini quad for her that is so cute and in good condition. Perfect for camping! We also found her a box of Mr./Mrs. Potato head accessories for 50¢! Can't beat that! When we got home, first thing she wanted to do was ride her quad, so I ran into the house to grab the camera and that's when I saw it...... The screen on the back was cracked & destroyed! Uuuggghhhh! I was just about to sign up for a (expensive) photography class and now this. I am so heartbroken over it but at least the camera is still functioning on auto. That on top of our TV breaking hasn't been the best of luck this week! Anyway, after that drama, we decided to check out the annual Ostrich Festival here in Chandler. We were a little skeptical since those type of things never live up to all the hype, but we were pleasantly surprised. It was so much fun and we never even saw an Ostrich! You gotta love paying $6 for a corn dog! Here are some pics from the day.

Labor of Love

My friend is pregnant with twins and I couldn't be more excited, so I spent many a night making her some extra special shower gifts. Unfortunately, her shower happened to be the weekend I was bedridden so I didn't get to see her actually open the gifts :( Just thought I'd share the fun. I loved making her these twin-themed baby accessories. Not photographed are baby leggings I made from girls knee socks and numerous hair clips. Can't wait to meet the little kiddos!

The Playroom is FINALLY Done!

A long, long time ago, in a kingdom not far away, there lived a lonely, deserted living room full of beautiful, but sad, furniture and lots of dust. One day, the "King" decided all the toys in the house should be banished to this dark, dungeon room. It was then that the "Queen" made it her mission to turn this sad little room into a magical wonderland for the toys to live. And so, in the days & months to follow, slowly the "Queen" found a home for each and every toy so that the little Princess could play until her heart was content and the "King" could no longer complain about that dark, unused room and the homeless toys. And, they all lived happily ever after :)

Happy Valentine's Day to ME! A little late, but it's finally up. Marshal bought me this chandelier for Valentine's Day and I LOVE IT! It's so full or sparkly goodness!

And, a post wouldn't be complete without at least one photo of the little princess! This little girl is in need of a serious manicure!

Playing Catch-Up

As I already explained, last week was pretty non-eventful since we were all home most of the time. Since we had plenty of time on our hands, we managed to snap a few shots here and there of the little miss Q-t-pie. Even when she's bored, she manages to find something fun (or funny) to do...

Here's our little cowgirl showing off her pony-tail. I can't believe her hair is FINALLY long enough to pull back. It's bitter-sweet because she looks so much older with a pony :(

Daddy took over for a few hours on Tuesday of last week so I could get some rest. Since we were both sick, we had to take turns with the princess. Here's what happens when Daddy "babysits". You can't tell me he doesn't have fun playing dress-up!

This one didn't turn out too great, but she was just so funny I had to include it. Quincy insisted on wearing my ugly green socks. She looks so funny with them flopping off the ends of her feet. Here she is harassing the cat. I'd say poor cat, but he actually deserves some harassment as payback for all the torture he's put us through in the past 8 years.

This was Thursday morning before school. I just thought she looked cute, but too old! Stop growing, kid!

Finally, it was crazy hat day at school. While her hat isn't too crazy, it's the only one she'll wear and keep on. She somehow got it in her head that in order to go outside you need a coat an a hat so this is her go-to hat when she is pleading with us to go outside. You'll also notice the balloon she is permanently attached to. That was our small token of affection for Daddy on his birthday. Okay, so it was more for her and she loves it!

Been Down & Out

It's been a rough week. ALL three of us have been sick. I began with a stuffy nose that turned into a sinus infection that soon spread to an ear infection in both ears. Let me just give you some advice: If you find yourself describing a stuffy nose as feeling like you had super glue squirted up there... go to the doc NOW! My nose is now clear but I have literally been 90% deaf for four days and counting. Marshal is about to kill me if I say "what???" again. Quincy had yet another ear infection, but she's much better already and well, Marshal is headed in the sinus/ear infection direction now too. Thank you so much to my mom (and dad) for all their support while we've been recovering. I don't think you ever get too old to want your mom caring for you when you're sick.

We also missed Marshal's birthday this week, being bedridden and all, so we'll have to plan something special this weekend. Hmmmmm. I'll have to give that some more thought. What do you do for a guy who buys everything for himself? The last time I tried to surprise him I wasted $200 on a Chinese TV that was unusable. Gulp. Well, anyway, Happy Birthday Hun! 143 SOOOOO MUCH.

And lastly, Quincy is still the most fabulous little thing to ever enter this world (but I'm her mom and I can say that). I know that EVERY mother thinks their child is a Godsend :) She is just so funny and makes me crack up. She is loving her Mrs. Potato Head these days. She had crazy hat day at school today. We've gotten some cute pictures this week so I will post some soon! Hope all our family & friends are doing well. Spring is in the air and I just love it... especially now that I can smell again! Now, if I can just get my hearing back...
